Alcorn Christie was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1945 by Lawrence H. McDaniel with the vision of providing quality insurance coverage and good old-fashioned service to clients in the local area. Over the years, the business was passed on to James M. Gray, who retired in 1987 and turned the agency over to his partner, George W. Alcorn, who since retired in January 2003. Today, the company is owned by Mark Christie who had joined the agency in 1998. Mark began his career in 1979 as an underwriter for Aetna Insurance Company and has been a licensed insurance agent since 1986.

On January 1, 2001, The Hinds Agency became a part of our organization. The Hinds Agency operated in Pittsburgh for over 25 years. Bill Hinds brought many years of insurance expertise as well as a shared commitment to provide our clients with quality products and responsive service. Bill Hinds retired in January 2003.

In January 2003, Alcorn Christie Insurance, Inc. purchased the William O. Mulligan Insurance Agency. The Mulligan Agency has provided quality insurance services to their clients for over 50 years. We are dedicated to provide the same excellent services. To allow us to provide the best customer service to our clients, we have also decided to consolidate our offices into one location. Alcorn Christie has grown quite a bit since it first opened its doors, never losing sight of all our clients whom made us successful. We continue to provide the same "good old- fashioned" service and quality products as we did more than 60 years ago.
